Easter has significant meaning in my life and family as it is the cornerstone of our faith. For that and many other reasons, it has been my favorite holiday since I was a little girl. So why is Easter so especially magical as a kid? Perhaps because like Halloween it involves hunting and collecting candy, or maybe because it falls near Spring Break and time off of school. I remember I loved Easter growing up because it was warm out, it meant family gathering together for brunch, and of course going shopping with my mom for a special dress and matching hat for church on Easter Sunday.
In designing this styled photo shoot I wanted to create a magical and dreamlike setting for a kid's Easter party. The main inspiration came from this year's "Pantone Color of the Year" - Ultraviolet. I love how rich and lush the purple is against the soft natural greens of Irvine Regional Park. This monochromatic table sat below a custom handmade wisteria chandelier. All of these gorgeous photos were captured by the lovely and talented Gloria McCune from McCune Photography.
Some of the features of this design were from some of my favorite event vendors. The gorgeous luxury linens are from La Tavola Fine Linens. The adorable children's chiavari chairs are from Create-A-Party.
Mixed in with the professional vendors, the table settings and decor are all from some of my favorite home stores and are treasures you can find too! The egg dishes, moss mats and wood cuts were from Cost Plus World Market. The stunning plastic drinking glasses, glass eggs and iridescent bunnies are from HomeGoods. The purple cake plates and glass birds are from Michael's Spring home collection.
